Netflix has announced that it’s going to increase it’s monthly subscription price by “a dollar or two” per month as part of its quarterly earnings announcement. The price increase will not immediately affect current subscribers.
Today’s announcement of a price increase is the first increase since 2011, when Netflix established the $7.99/month price for its streaming service. Netflix continues to add new subscribers at a steady pace, adding 4 million new subscribers in the first quarter of 2014.
